Backdating postage

Hello Customer You can check your local post office and ask them if they have any. Reply to Kraig Grayson's Post: The issue is that I needed to have mailed something out by a certain date and so I need an envelope that is postmarked by that past date that I can use to mail the item out. Hello, Customer There is a problem with what you have in mind.Or you can ask your friends who may have received a letter in an envelope a few days ago prior to today. First of all, because a postmark is made at the post office when something is mailed, it is illegal to re-use an already postmarked piece of mail (envelope or package) without obscuring the previous postmark. Then that envelope has been placed inside a new envelope in an attempt to "prove" the letter was already mailed, but returned and is now being resent.Doing that is kind of "iffy," as most people realize it is an attempt to prove a previous mailing. If you need further help with this, please let us know. We look forward to helping you with your future questions. While Pay Pal’s Multi-Order shipping system allows selection of the “Mailing Date”, it is obvious that labels postmarked on Sunday cannot possibly be shipped until Monday. For the past three years, postal employees and postmasters have told me, assuredly, that this was not a problem. Outraged, I drove home and immediately Google’d the document. The guy further stated, “I don’t like the change either, and they really should have made an announcement.” The next day, I went to a different local post office.

Even customers know better than to expect tracking information for USPS First Class and Priority Mail packages—this luxury only comes from UPS, Fed Ex, etc.

There’s a single reason I stick with the USPS: Unmatched prices.

However, the USPS is in financial trouble (and has been for years).

The USPS cannot afford to replace their practically useless Delivery Confirmation service with an actual tracking system.

Nor do they have the resources to develop an API that would allow businesses to automate shipments (like UPS/Fed Ex).
